Spending a day in SJPP-travelling alone

Friday morning,June 13, 2025

I wokecup in my albergue, feeling much better after all that travel. I'm kinda regretting that I'm not starting my walk today.

Its a beautiful day, blue skies,and very warm, with a threat of a storm later today. Though its warm here in valley- will likely be very different up on the pass through the mountains.

The albergue is bustling. Pilgrim hostels typically only host you for one night and they want you up and out so they can clean and get ready for the next batch coming in this afternoon.

I'm staying a second night but need to clear out so the cleaners can come through. So after a wonderful breakfast, I said goodbye to the folks I had just met as they head out to start their Camino. Christina, who I met up with on the train, also stayed here last night and she too is heading out.

I hope to see many of them along the way. People walk at different speeds, take rest days or detours so you often see folks again and again.

 So now I have free day to explore this beautiful town and also check my supplies and equipment.

I walk up to the citadel and look out over the valley-I'll be walking up and over that tomorrow..

 Then, back into town for a coffee and some shopping.

A foot massage place must be rea;;
