Reaching Orisson

I continue upward, stopping frequently to catch my breath. My lack of wind is the worst part. My knees and legs are doing okay

I'm only carrying a small pack with snacks, rain gear, chargers, phone, and water. My big pack will be waiting for me at Borda. But many or most pilgrims are carrying on their back all that they will need for their walk to Santiago, 500 miles ahead.

I think the snail is travelling faster..

View over the valley

Hard to describe how steep this is - almost totally vertical

I got off the road for a while-its a shorter distance but much steeper.

still looking dorkey in Tilley hat

Can finally see Refugio Orisson in the fog

Ahh,  warm and dry. Tortilla espana for lunch.

Leaving Orisson on way to my evening stop at Borda. Fog even thicker. Only 2 km to go.
